Our love story is a funny one, especially my side of it. Our kids came to us unexpectedly, adoption was never our intention, but being their mama is my very favorite thing. I love how God does that, when we live surrendered, He brings us into the life He has for us, but that we never could have imagined. Spiritual Direction became a part of my life similarly. It was only after formal training at University + Seminary, a decade of church + para church ministry, then a Sabbatical year that I heard the title “Spiritual Director” for the first time. Now with deep peace & confidence, I can say that, this is what I have been in “training” for all along. I am passionate about all the things that bring us into deeper, healthier, more fulfilling relationship with our Creator. Friends who know me best know that I never wear shoes, and I’m always in the middle of 5+ books at a time. My faith in God began in unlikely ways and was fueled through unlikely circumstances. I've had to learn to rest in His pursuit of me and how to pursue Him in a way that is authentic in my soul. It's so much more simple & sacred than I could have imagined. Many Christians come to know Christ through the simplicity of the sacred Gospel, then as they begin to walk with Him in their daily lives, it all becomes…less simple & sacred, it seems. Connecting to an infinite Creator as His finite creations was never meant to feel like an obligation, it was never meant to be overwhelming and it certainly is not meant to be underwhelming. Life with Christ is FULL, experiencing that fullness requires us to go to Him with others. What distinguishes this listening profession from many other listening practices is its explicit acknowledgment of God. Spiritual directors are servants of the holy, listeners with the task of being attentive to God, with and for the sake of another. In our sessions you will have the opportunity focus on the edges of your spiritual growth. I will provide a compassionate and confidential environment where you can let your guard down, unburden your soul to find joy and healing. I will carefully listen and seek the Lord to discern with you where God may be drawing you into deeper freedom, joy, and love. You'll receive sensitive, biblical companionship tailored to your unique identity rather than general, one-size-fits-all advice. Together we will explore the past, observe the present, and weigh choices regarding the future—all the time focusing on following and responding to God’s invitations. My training for this profession extends far beyond specific seminary courses. The Lord has been preparing and transforming into a Spiritual Director since before I knew what Spiritual Direction was.
